Comments: I have travelled the country extensively from Cairo to Cape Town, from Morocco to Kenya, from Libya to Ivory Coast and all elsewhere in between, too many to list. The plains, the sunsets and most of all the wildlife, the mystery of Africa is something that all should experience at least once in your lifetime. I cannot list one best animal, because I love them all, but the elephants are wonderful to see and hear. Thank you for having such a wonderful country.
Regards, Pique'

I'm currently in high school and one year from graduation. My main area of study is science. My most profound wish for my professional career is to become a veterinarian. Last Feb, I did an internship for one week in the zoo of the city of Lyon, France (zoo de la Tête d'Or). I worked there as an animal keeper, and that experience really confirmed my career objective. I would like to make the most of my summer by pursuing this training, and at the same time make myself useful. Furthermore, I would like to find an internship in an African reserve, where I could put to use, in an optimal way, the knowledge I have of animals and my passion for them.I have been to the UK and the USA many times, and spent a lot of time in these two countries. Of note, in the US, I was able to obtain a short internship with a veterinarian.I speak English fluently and I would prefer to obtain an internship in an English speaking country.I hope you will consider my request. I am most eager to obtain an intership.I am available for an interview to discuss my request for an internship.I look forward to hearing from you.Sincerely,F

I've wanted to go to Africa my whole life. I'm afraid to go because I think I'm going to fall in love with the place and won't want to come home. My favorite African animal: I love them all, but I would have to say the lion/simba because he is strong, dominating, feared, large body size, and mean yet gentle. They are just beautiful animals.

Comments: I quite enjoyed this site. I spent an entire summer in East Africa in the summer of 1973 on a camera safari. It was one of the most wonderful trips I have ever experienced! (Much more pleasant than the Christmas vacation in Russia in 72, when the officials confiscated my belongings!) Enjoyed viewing the Swahili, why don't you include the animal names in the Swahili section. I teach school and usually do an African unit with my students. Time was spent in Kenya and Tanzania, although our trip to Uganda was cancelled because of unrest and danger to visitors. My favourite animal has to be the sleek and beautiful cheetah, eventhough my nickname on our trip was Simba Girl, because of locating more lions than anyone else. Thanks.

Comments: Does the traditional dance group Bomas of Kenya still perform? If yes, do they ever perform in the United States? My favorite animal? The giraffe - once saw a herd break out of the bush on the right (we were en route to Mombasa), gallop across the road in front of our car, then disappeared into the brush on the left side of the road. Not like the zoo animals (glad to have those for the sake of children's education) - these were gorgeous! Healthy coats, just looked like they were having fun romping together (or evading a predator - I prefer my first guess). Free, lively, beautiful.

Comments: I always dreamed of visiting africa - kenya in particular, my father gave me a small map of a part of Africa with drawings of animals found in the area when I was about 9 years old and I used to fall asleep at night studying it from its place on my wall. 1999 - the day after my uni graduation ceremony I flew out to Kenya and the most wonderful holiday of my life - which included a short trip in a rickity old plane - to the Masai Mara. I stood on Africa when asked to get out of the 4 wheel drive vehicle to adjust the roof after rain - I stood on Africa!! sky down to the ground and animals there because they wanted to be not because they had to be - Such an experience, with photo's to prove it. I now have Africa in my heart and hope to return - but not with rose coloured glasses - well maybe just one lens!
Best wishes Annie x

Now, I want to visit the Masai Mara in the beginning of Sepwhen the wildebeest migration cross the Mara river. I hope that I will be there at the right time to take my pictures. My favourite animal is the cheetah. He is so supple and a big challenge for an animal photographer to get a good pictures when he run at 120/km per hour over the grassland. And he is endangered and he has a lot of problems to hold one's ground to the other big cats. Very often he is the loser and his babies have been killed by the others.Bye from Luxembourg! ROMAIN

Comments: I was in the Massai Mara two years ago, what a great place. The only place I like better in the world is Paris... I am currently thinking of moving to Africa because it is, in my mind a place at which I feel totally at peace.

Comments: My life's ambition is to work with african animals and to ask me what my favorite animal is is unfair coz i love 'em all. i would love to talk to anyone who is interested in the same life as me male or female.

Comments: This is a wonderful site, well done. I was searching for photos and information on warthogs, if you have any more then I would appreciate seeing them. I love all African animals but have to say that the warthog is definitely a favourite of mine. I think people under estimate them. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to go back out to Africa.
