Comments: Hi, I learned quite a bit from your excellent web page. I was not able to find the information, that I need for my dissertation research. I'm working on a research project for my Ph.D. in clinical psychology, but I wanted to locate some material in the Anthropological literature that would support my hypothesis; which is, human beings have a biological instinct or socialized instinct to structure and function in groups, perhaps because there is safety in numbers. If you would be so kind as to tell me where I could find such material. Thank you very much. I'll appreicaite whatever advise you can provide. Oh, my favorite animal... elephants. They seem very bright, warm and gentle.

Cottars Camp is now called Siana Springs and is run by Conservation Cooperation. I think it would also be a good idea to mention the balloon safari operators in the Masai Mara in your web site as this is a very popular excursion and an important part of the Mara experience for many visitors. Mada Hotels also owns Adventures Aloft Balloon Safaris which flies from both Fig Tree Camp and Siana Springs. The carving has been in progress for a long time because I am the mother of a child with multiple disabilities who requires a great deal of my time. I am looking for pictures and information about what kind of beads the warriors wear in their ears so I may reproduce them on the ears of my carved warrior's head. I would appreciate any help you may be able to provide, especially if the different beads have different meanings. My carving is of a Maasai warrior with lions behind him. He's crying because the lions are disappearing, as are a lot of beautiful things in our world.

Comments: The male lion seems to me to be designed by nature as a perfect fighting machine. With claws and dagger teeth it can put up a formidable offense. Other large cats can also. However the lion stands alone in its defensive ability. With a thick mane of hair around it's neck, it's foe cannot so easily bite it. The same is true for the lion's underside. The lion merely has to pounce on it's prey or enemy, hold it underneath it's body while being protected by its thick coating of hair while it uses it's teeth and claws. This is the design I admire... perfectly.

Comments: The warthog! Because we had a family of warthogs living under our lodge room at Kilaguni the very first safari my husband and I went on. Loved it so much we've been lots of time since and even got married at Shimba Hills!

Comments: I read an article in today's Indianapolis Star and wish to My company (Tennant Company) is sending a large group to Mara Serena Lodge on May 20. I will donate to your school program with gusto - my wife is a teacher. My company has a matching gift program. What I really would like do is to get a hold of information which I can take to the high command and see if we can't leave a corporate & employee donation in the footprints we leave behind. I have been reading loads of books to gain a better understanding of the East African community and their past and present efforts to develop their country. I applaud you for what you are doing. Education gives us strength for our futures together. My favorite African Animal has to be simba because they are fearless and live in a social group which only allows the strong males to mate and propogate the species which insures their dominance in the future. If John is speaking anywhere close in the Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky area in the next 6 weeks I would like to hear him speak. Please let me know if that is possible. Thank You, Dan Hochleutner, 11824 N Gray Road, Carmel, IN 46033

Comments: This site is the coolest. I love wildlife and the Serengeti and Masai Mara are a must see on the National Geographic Channel. Especially when they show documentaries on lions.

Comments: Thank you for your websight. We will be traveling to Kenya to do missionary work in May and Jun. The Swahili will be very useful, as will the map. We enjoyed your pictures too. Hhmm, favorite African animal. Joani's is the giraffe because she got to feed them in the Brooklyn zoo as a child. She remembers their long black sticky tongues! I guess mine would be the cats of all kinds. Their sleekness, power. Yet they can act kitten like too. May God bless you always. jeff
