Comments: Hey there. My fav african animal are monkeys, cuz they are so kewl! and they hang on trees and stuff.I think swahili is very kewl. I like saying Karebo Chacula (welcome food, not sure of the spelling) cuz it sounds kewl, even though it doesn't really make sense. I like the word Hodi too (anyone home?)

Comments: Your pictures are very good, and I love big cats: lions, black panthers, tigers and I also love snakes. I think that the big cats are the most amazing creatures that God created beside man. I like their power as well as their grace. The male lion's mane is most beautiful, and the black panther color is out-standingly handsom, as for the snake it's grace is wonderful. I am an animal lover from the heart. Sincerely Yours, Kit (nickname)

Comments: I had the good fortune of stopping over twice at Keekorok Lodge for a rest and a refreshing coke. That was in Dec 1992 & Nov 1993. I was birdwatching and managed to see over 300 species in Kenya. Asante sana to all the people of Kenya who made my stay enjoyable and pleasant, especially my guides, ole Kaaka, Julius Gichuhi, Stanley Njuguna, and Benson Munga. My favourite mammal is the elephant and my favourite bird is the Lilac-breasted Roller. I look forward to coming back soon. Cheers!

Comments: What a humbling experience! I'm a Swahili from Mombasa who has always taken great pride in our language, and especially our culture of dignity, integrity, and most importantly, decorum. I, however, had no idea that so many people from all over the world took such a great interest in Kenya, and shared my love for this amazing country. I feel honored and humbled by the interest that others take in Africa. My favorite animal is the African Grey Parrot.... our pet parrot, Chicco's favorite line was..... Habiba JUU!!!

Comments: I enjoyed your web cite the most out of all web cites I have been loking at today. Today I was gathering information on the Masai. Your cite has been the most helpful and informative. The african animal part of your web cite made me smile in my minial information gathering. My favorite african animal is not on your list, it is a tiger shark because they have been known to eat almost anything even humans. I admire the courage they place in themselves to be able to digest anything, tin cans, plastic, etc. and that they're one of the few cannibles in the world. I hope that answered your question of why, if not e-mail me and I'll explain more in depth.

I've never been to Africa, but I have many Kenyan friends here in Moscow. I've been studying Swahili for 3 years at the University. I enjoy East African Music very much. I would like to communicate with Swahili speakers all over the world by using e-mail. I can speak English, Swahili, German and of course Russian. My favourite African animals are leopard, lion and giraffe. Thank you very much!

Comments: I like the lion. I found your info very useful, but I will have to disagree with you on the evolution stuff. The earth has not been here for millions of years. Lots of proof that there is a God (Jehovah) that created this earth. I prefer to believe that I am here because of a loving God than to believe that I am an acident. Say you are walking thru the forest and come upon some rocks in a circle with a fire in the middle of them and maybe a coke can there and something cooking. Now you would have to assume that someone has been there and created it. Not that it just happened over a number of years or some explosion. I can tell that you have the gift of studying. I challenge you give Creation a good long look at.

Comments: That's a really nice WebSite, but the real cause why I am signing up here is that I am looking for a place, where I can work for one year after I have finished school. I am looking for something like a carestation for wildlife or anything else where you are working with animals, but as far a way of tourism as possible. I did already write to many organizations and surfed hours through the 'Net, but I didn't find anything. So if anybody, who knows a person who could help me, reads this, please write me. Thanks. I don't have a favourite African animal, but I like all kinds of reptiles (but of course all other kinds of animals, too...)

Comments: Am looking for bibliographic references to Masai thunder/lightning lore, thunder/lightning gods, ditto charms/magic/amulets; also words for thunder and lightning. Have access to major university library, any language OK (but I don't read any African language) but English, French, German preferred. This material is for vol. 2 of a series on thunder gods/lore of the world.

Comments: I´m writing an SA about the Maasai culture, so I´m happy to have found this site. I think it´s good. By the way my favourite african animals are the leopard, the cobra and the black mamba.

Comments: It's nice web page and very useful. Well, ma favorite animal is none other than Simba (Lion). I like him very much. I've been several time in Tsavo National Park and whenever I go I must see these animals. And it is that I'm so lucky I never come out of the Park without seeing them. Please sometimes later visit my site and sign my guest book. I'll appreciate. Thanks.

Comments: We have had Bengals for about 7 years. We started out breeding our Female Miss Blonde Bamboo and still have one of her babies now Mr Simba. I call him my Simby Boy. He gets into everything, and marks his teritory everywhere, but I wouldn't trade him for anything. He is about 5 now, and I'm ready for a new member of our family, but not one to replace him,one to add to the joy of our bengal family. I have had cats all my life, and I think the bengal breed has been the most fun, not to mention the most challenging by far. I have been looking for awhile, I know I want a female, but haven't found her yet. I have 2 other cats, one is Seringetti, a small male I found in the desert, while on vacation. He was very ill. He had ear mites. It took awhile for him to get better, but now he fits right in. The newest member of our family is Moglie Ann. Her name started out as Moglie because my daughter thought she was a boy. When she found out she was a girl, we added the Ann. I think what you are doing is great. Good luck to you in all your travels.

Comments: I am searching for an online course in Kiswahili. I am a slow learner and learn best with some interaction from a patient teacher. My favorite African animal? Hmmm.. Hard to pick a favorite. The lion is mighty - the elephant majestic - the hippo - deceptive - the water buffalo - unapproachable - the pied crow - noisy - the crowned crane - picky - the little wag tail - friendly. I like them all except I do not like Safari ants and malaria mosquitos.

Comments: This site has some really useful information for me. My original intention was to look for a vocabulary in order to write to an old friend in TZ. The individual words and phrases are helpful in this regard, although I am sure that the sentence structure in Swahili is not the same as in English. Nonetheless, I appreciate all the work you have gone to in your KiSwahili word book. Have a prosperous New Year.
