Comments: Visited the Masai Mara in Dec and it was great. Saw all of the Big-5, while staying t the Mara Sarova tented camp. Visiting Africa isnt a vacation-its an experience. Leave the high heeled shoes at home and take comfortable walking shoes. Also take a hot air balloon trip. May be a little expensive but worth every penny. We were in a herd of 45 elephants. What an experience!! Be sure to bring plenty of film and electric adapters for charging the camcorder batteries. This is one trip you will NEVER forget. Favorite animal - Giraffe. Bob.

Comments: I've been working, in my spare time, on a DOS program that translates Swahili words to English. It has a vocabulary so far of about 1500 words and it recognizes noun plurals, most adjective forms, and most verb subjects and tenses. It does not yet, however, recognize verb forms with any particles other than subject and tense, e.g., an object infix.

Comments: This is great! I use to live in Kenya as a child. I have been frustrated at not remembering some swahili (never taught formally) and I found my answers here, the anthem, numbers, etc. I also found the formal meaning of words I picked up while there -- some I really never realized where what they were! And how to spell words I know. It's been great flashbacks :) Fav animals? Tough one. They are all wonderful. Let's help them survive. Amboseli, and The Mara/Samburu were the best place to go in Kenya to see animals in the 80's. I hope it is still the same. Want to take my hubby there and show him my childhood haunts :) Kwahari!

It was very impressive and we learned alot from them. We were not tourists but with friends from their community. They sing and dance very beautiful. Now I wanted more specific background information about them and their culture to tell the people in Netherland about them, that's the reason why I visited your site. Comments: Favorite African/or any animal is the Giraffe. Can't imagine what the world would look like with such a view. Friends are going to Kenya with co-workers, teachers... Have you climed Kilimanjaro? I've always had a strong pull towards that mountain, although my climbing days are over. My mother told me we have relatives in Rwanda... well, up until recently. What a tragic disaster has been going on there. We are soon to plan a trip to China, our second. My husband Nick was born in Harbin, Manchuria. He lived there during the Japanese occupation, then moved to Nanking, then to Shanhai. Do you have any suggestions for us? This is a beautiful website... keep up the wonderful work. I've been searching all over for access to a taxonomy book and thought this was close enough, but it ended up not helping. Although I did enjoy the way you set it all up and your home page. Kudos to you. I love elephants. They're so cute, so my fav African Animal would have to be the African Elephant and their jolly bellies!!

Comments: I used to work with my wife in the masai mara for 2 years (1986 - 1988) as a camp manager. It was the most beautiful time in my life. My favourite animal is cheetah. Cordial regards to all friends of Africa. Walter & Anneliese Laner / Innsbruck

Comments: Great homepage! I have just come home from a safari in Kenya and Tanzania...and fell in love...in all the animals, the mountains and the landscapes. Can't wait to get back. But until then I think I have to hold with animals on the internet. My favourite african animal is the giraffe! It look so...unreal...like a animal from Jurassic Park or so... Hakuna Matata! /Ina :)

Comments: I am going to Kenya in Jul, so I look forward to seeing all the animals then! I paricularly love elephants, although I am aware of the problems with destroying crops. I am vegetarian and care very much for the preservation of species and harmony with man.
