Hello:
I am seeking information on a plant used by the Masai in soup.
The root and bark are used to make a bitter soup which is good for health.
I am in need of the name of this plant, common or scientific.
Any help would be welcome -
E-mail tck98@hotmail.com -
I have been to Mombasa and met many Masai and to this day find them to be the most friendly people on earth and being a seaman I have met plenty of people in the last twenty years.
Are the tusks still crossing the main street in Mombasa?
My favorite animal since this is asked is homosapien.
Ashanti Sana, Gregory Keene

Interested in finding a good camp to stay at in Aug 1998 in the Masai Mara for a family safari.
Wanted to stay at Kichwa Tembo, but they're all booked.
Want to find a camp that has excellent game viewing and accessibility to the Reserve.
Favorite animals are: lions, hippos, cheetahs, zebras, rhinos, leopards, warthogs, monkeys, mongeese, antelopes,
--- all of the animals! Will be traveling with a 13 & 7 year old.
Please advise as the best possible camp to try to stay at. Thanks for any advice.

I favour the ones that move as vast herds over large territories.

Dear friends of Africa...
I recently visited Kenya and Masai Mara was my all time favorite!
The elephant drew me to Africa, but all the animals have a special place in my heart.
I pray for a better future for all the animals.
I went on the off season and was surprised still to see so many tourists.
It was sad to see the animals encircled by safari vehicles.
I felt guilty and therefore will probably not return.
Yet I will cherish the memory of seeing that ancient land and am very thankful to have seen the animals in their territory,
free to roam, where they belong.

Hello. I am a student of socialanthropology.
I just saw a film describing the event of the fertility rite of the Masai in the border areas of Kenya and Tanzania.
Wonderful experience.

I have long been a student of Africa, and I have learned enough to write Africa and its peoples into novels that I write. I have long wished to go to Africa, but it is now too late.
I am 89 years of age, disabled, and unable to travel.

I love your page. I studied Swahili in college and am especially interested in teaching my daughter the language.
I love chimps. They're wondrous creatures.

I am trying to learn swahili because I am going to Kenya this year for the first time.
I love Africa very much. I am very into the studies of the chimpanzees. Especially Jane Goodall's research in Tanzania.
I even met her once. I work at a place where the chimps can use sign language and it is very cool and very interesting.

It was wonderful. My favorite African animal was the giraffe. They run with grace.

Hujambo? I wondered if anyone could help me?
I would dearly like to spend time working in Kenya - particularly if it were related to the Masai Mara,
or any other national park.
I would greatly appreciate any ideas. Thankyou.
By the way, my favourite animals are the mongooses.

I would love to find some good pictures of the Masai people because I've been in Kenya and I stayed with the Masai people for 2 weeks.
I don't have too many pictures of them because they usually don't like getting their picture taken.
My favorite animals are giraffes and rhinos.
