Comments: I am a little disappointed that there were no real pictures of the Serengeti which is in Tanzania and other such areas around Ruaha, Kilaminjarro from the Tanzanian side and the rift valley from Lake Nyasa side, the exclusion of such places rob visitors to this site, and potential visitors to these countries of a true overal appeatite wetting experience. That said I must also say that the pictures that you have showed are well presented. My favourite animal is the baboon because one stole me as a child at Sydney Royal Easter Show and wanted to keep me, so I guess she is my totom. They are very protective of their young and very few things make them back down. I saw on the net someone was looking for the book 'Simplified Swahili' and this site was given as the place of contact I don't know the persons name but who ever you are you can purchase it from Dymocks book store Sydney Australia or from the Book store on Independence Avennue Dar-es-Salam. I did enjoy the site but think you are capable of much much more given the raw material you have to work with.

Comments: Well, I last left some notes back in 1998, referring to our safari during Nov 1997. My wife and I have decided to return. So, we're off again in November 2002 - and we're hoping to see Ole Tome at Keekorok Lodge again. We've made enquiries, and we've been told he's still there, so here's hoping... Our itinerary this time includes Giraffe Manor, Loldia Lodge, Keekorok, then a beach rest at Pinewood, south of Mombasa. With luck, I'll be able to take my wife to Nyali Beach Hotel, which I visited when in the British Merchant Navy in 1963!! They say that things always seem better with hind-sight, but we hope that we'll enjoy Kenya, especially the Masai Mara, as much as we did first time around. I'll let you know... Meanwhile, if anyone else was impressed as much as we were by Ole Tome, please post a message - or drop us an email.

I was so frustrated but haven't lost hope to learn the language. My dream is to go to Afrika, Kenia, South African Republic, Lesoto or Swaziland. And my favorite animal (well, I never thought it would so difficult to choose a favorite animal), anyway, it is probably lion, because it is royal and dignified, but I also love cheetahs (my dog reminds me of them) and giraffes. I actually have several drawings I did of some African animals. Thank you! Sincerely, Anya

Mummy and Daddy died in an air crash while I survived and was raised by a kindly 'She-ape' named Kara. It has been my best holiday and I recommend it to everybody. I think that the main problem is money because two weeks in Kenya were very expensive but it was worthy. My favourite animal is probably a lion cub. I saw a few of them and there all were very cute. I hope I'll have the chance to go to Africa again and visit not only Kenya but also Tanzania and Congo. Everybody in Masai Mara did a good job and I liked it the best from all parks I visited.Jana

I surfed on the internet to see if I could find something about the way of living for the Masai people. I think it´s very interesting to hear about other peoples way of living. We are a big world, with different kind of thoughts and way of living - I want to tell you, that I think there is nothing right and nothing wrong - it just a matter of respect and love. From Susanne - far away from Africa - but with all my love.
Sorry, I forgot to tell you about my favourite animal... I just love the GORILLA - a beautiful ape - I hope it will live forever... Susanne.

Comments: Hallo, This is a great website to learn Swahili. I have referred this site to my husband who was born in US and is doing very well in learning the language. I also have children whom would very much like to master the language so that they can easily communicate with their grandparents and other relatives when they visit Kenya in the summer. I was hoping that you do have a teacher guide book to teach from Pre-k and up in schools. I have been asked several times if I could teach Swahili and I would love to do that if I had a guide book to ensure that I am not teaching broken swahili. Thank you very much for the website. This is a great site for our generation with children who are in the verge of disconnection from the roots of our African ancestors. Thank you. Carol

Comments: I have always been interested in the different origins of the name Mara. My most recent search led me to this wonderful website. I have learned a great deal more than I expected. I believe that my favorite African animal would have to be the African elephant. I love their big ears.

Comments: Good evening, My name is Kitwana and I am from the states. I was navigaitng the internet using my name as item to look at. And I couldnt believe that there are people that has my name. It has taken a while for me to get used to my name because in school teachers and classmates would always say that it's a girl's name. Now I've grown to like my name and when people make a mistake I let it be known to them that it's me and it's a male's name from africa. My favorite African animal I would have to say is the Lion, being that the lion is very ambitious and independent. Like myself.

Comments: I really love this site. When i'm older I want to live in Africa. I'm taking some drumming classes: learning how to play the Djembe. My favorite animal is the giraffe because it is very peaceful and doesn't harm any other animal. It spends its days eating leaves!!

Comments: Elephant is my favourite herbivore. The most magnificent animal on earth. So many human like characteristics. The hyena is my favourite carnivore. Sneaky, but smart. The females are 10% larger than the males. Unusual facts and features of this creature. Have personally visited the Masai Mara many times. Africa is the most magical place on earth. Kwaheri!

Comments: This is something as a child I had always wanted to learn I am an african american male with intrigue about my beginnings. The only way that I can find out who I am from my origin is too take the action to learn. It is difficult but I want to be able to show the respect to the one I have fallen in love with and the respect to my elders of her family so that when the day comes I can present myself to them and be accepted. The Lion has always been my favorite animal, but I know that all I want is the peace of mind that we all look for. How do I learn just from flipping back and forth to the swahili dictionary?
